Richard Bennett's exclusive coverage of the 1998 Sydney Hobart yacht race storm were published around the world From ' Life' magazine to 'Paris Match .'

They were also used to illustrate Harper Collins' International bestseller 'fatal storm' by Rob Mundle.

His coverage of this event won the Nikon - Kodak Australian press photographer of the year award in 1999 for the best sports photograph.

More stormy pictures resulted from Richard's winter Crossing of the Indian ocean with Joe Cannon and John Wedd on the 35 foot ketch 'Avalon of Tasman'
